Elizabeth Woodville

Here's Elizabeth Woodville, the most beautiful woman in England with her "heavy lidded eyes, like a dragon."  I can just imagine the cosmetics ads.  Are your eyes not scaly and dragon-like enough?  I'm making myself laugh now.  I'm into smoky eyes.  She was into dragon eyes.

Also, the book I mentioned this week is available on Amazon here.

Where was the Battle of Bosworth Field?

I'm catching up on my podcasts tonight and am listening to this one from the BBC History Magazine from March 2010. If you don't subscribe, or are as behind in your subscriptions as I am, it's worth a listen. There's a whole section on archeologists doing work to find out where Bosworth Field is (the Battle of Bosworth Field is where Henry VII defeated Richard III and began the Tudor Dynasty).
